I heard this was the best old time Pickin' Parlor in the world. For generations a genuine, old time Pickin' Parlor was a place where people gathered for music, dancing and fun. It wasn't scheduled or planned … just spontaneous. That's what happens every week at The People's Store in Hayesville, NC. You never know who will show up but one thing is for sure, Wayne "Cutworm" Phillips will be on the floor buck dancing, telling stories and making sure everyone is having fun. If you want an example of authentic Appalachian mountain dancing, this is it. This story aired on WSB-TV Channel 2 Action News in 1977.
