Middlesex made two changes from the regular YB40 line-up with Sam Robson coming in for Chris Rogers and giving a List A debut to young seam bowler, Tom Helm.
Middlesex openers, Paul Stirling and Dawid Malan got the Panthers away to a flying start with Middlesex reaching 42-0 in the fifth over of the innings before Paul Stirling was yorked by Wardlaw, having made 32 off just twenty balls.
Joe Denly was bowled for seven and Robson managed only a single before he was bowled off an inside-edge by Gibson. Adam Rossington joined Malan and Middlesex reached 63-3 after the eight compulsory power-play overs. However, the Panthers then lost Dawid Malan who was caught at the wicket off Wardlaw's bowling for 14 to reduce Middlesex to 65-4.
Neil Dexter joined Rossington and the pair set about repairing the damage, adding forty runs for the fifth wicket in 8.2 overs before Dexter got a leading edge and he was caught for 22. Gareth Berg joined Rossington and the pair took Middlesex to 166-5 in the 29th over before Adam Rossington gave a return catch to Adam Lyth to be dismissed for 42 (off 49 balls).
Ollie Rayner joined Berg and they took the Panthers to 178-6 before Berg was bowled for 43 (off 52 balls). Toby Roland-Jones joined Rayner with 8.3 overs remaining of the innings and the pair took Middlesex to 194-7 after 36 overs at which point the batting power-play was taken. Rayner and Roland-Jones took the total to 214-7 before Roland-Jones was yorked by Pyrah for thirteen.
The Panthers' innings closed on 217-8. Ollie Rayner was 22 not out.
In reply with rain threatening, the Yorkshire openers, Gale and Lyth were restricted to 21-0 in the first five overs of the innings before Gale hit two fours in Toby Roland-Jones' third over. Lyth hit Roland-Jones for a four in his following over and after a no-ball from Roland-Jones, Lyth hit the resulting free-hit for as six as Yorkshire reached 44-0 after the eight power-play overs.
Gareth Berg and Ollie Rayner then replaced Murtagh and Roland-Jones in the attack and they restricted Yorkshire to 54-0 after thirteen overs at which point, the umpires brought the players off the ground due to rain with Yorkshire three runs ahead of the Duckworth/Lewis par score.
Play resumed after a 32 minute delay which left Yorkshire chasing a revised D/L target of 197 in 35 overs. However, with rain not far away, Gale and Lyth took Yorkshire to 81-0 after 17.2 overs before the rain returned. The match was called-off at 7.00pm and Yorkshire won the match by 17 runs under Duckworth-Lewis regulations.
