Professor Patrick French, Dean, School of Arts and Sciences, Ahmedabad University is of the opinion that students need to think in new, lateral and innovative ways if they are to succeed in a world that is rapidly changing. He alludes to the tech industry as an example, where companies are increasingly hiring professionals who have skills in other areas such as philosophy, history or political science. He opines that it is students who have had the chance to receive broad education, which includes Liberal Arts, who will be the best at problem-solving on a professional level.
