If the state of education in frontier counties could get worse, it certainly has.Government officials stationed within Garissa county have now been forced to step in and teach in local schools following mass transfers of non-local teachers by the teachers service commission.   
The move now threatens to bring education in the frontier counties to its knees, after the teachers employer was forced to transfer non local teachers who remain a target of frequent Alshabaab attacks, even as local leaders now plead with the national government to address the dire situation.
