In Across the Arctic Wild, my brother Ted @therealtedbaird and I embark on an extraordinary 20-day journey through the remote Barren Grounds of Nunavut, paddling the wild Hood River all the way to the Arctic Ocean. Along the way, we explore the breathtaking Wilberforce Falls and Canyon, one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the North. Our adventure takes a turn when we're weathered in on the coast, running low on food as we anxiously await our floatplane pickup.
Throughout our expedition, we discover historical Inuit artifacts, including what may be an ancient stone blind and a food cache, offering a profound connection to the land's history. The journey is filled with adrenaline-pumping moments, from running powerful rapids to encountering a grizzly bear up close. We also witness the beauty of Arctic wildlife, including caribou and wolves, and catch numerous monster lake trout in the crystal-clear waters. The untouched wilderness of the Canadian Arctic provides a stunning backdrop for every challenge and triumph, making this an adventure of a lifetime.
