UCT students who were evacuated from campus on Sunday due to a raging mountain fire are expected to begin returning to their residences from Thursday. Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng, says those from fire-damaged residences will be given the opportunity to collect their belongings and will be placed in alternative residences. Some four thousand students have been temporarily accommodated in hotels around the city.
