Pork humba is the quintessential humba Bisaya recipe for Filipinos and I show you how to cook this classic humba Bisaya from my Filipino cooking channel in English ( Naomi's Filipino Kitchen).
When cooking Pork humba it is best to use Pork belly as you need meat that has equal amounts of meat and fat to make this delicious Filipino pork stew.
Humba literally means tender pork and the humba recipe comes from the Bisaya Filipino's, so it's known as a Bisaya humba recipe. To get the best results its important to slow cook the pork humba so that the meat is tender and juicy ( humba humba)
I speak Tagalog and Bisaya but I choose to present all my Filipino recipes in English as my aim is to share to the rest of the world the delights of Filipino cooking.
Most people think of Asian cooking as either Chinese or Thai my aim and goal is to make Filipino cooking just as popular around the world.
Here are the ingredients of my Humba Bisaya recipe:
1 kilo of pork belly, cut into cubes
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup dark soy sauce
200 ml of 7up or sprite
2 onions, sliced thinly
6 cloves of garlic, peeled & chopped
Pinch of ground black pepper (paminta)
2 bay leaves ( dahon ng Laurel )
