Dr Kola Adesina is currently Head of Department of Mass Communication, Crescent University Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, and formerly an Assistant Examiner with the Oxford and Cambridge RSA Examinations Board (OCR), United Kingdom. Kola has also served as Media Relations Consultant with United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) based in Vienna, Austria. He was the winner in the Best Written Feature Category of the 1998 edition of Multicultural Media Awards moderated by Kingston University, UK.
He holds a B.Sc. in Media and Communications and an M.Sc. in Media and Development Studies of the London South Bank University, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) of Canterbury Christchurch University, Kent, UK and a doctorate in Media and Communications of the University of London. He has taught at all levels of education in Nigeria and in the United Kingdom.
His research interests include Development Communication, Media Strategies for Investment Promotion, Music, Culture and Communication, Media and Citizenship, Mass Communication Curriculum Review.
He recently co-authored “Gone to Stamford Bridge?: Influence of Foreign Football and its Digital Coverage on Youths in Abeokuta” published in Studies in Media and Communication (Redfame Publishers, Canada).
He is a registered member of the General Teaching Council of England and Wales (GTTC); Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, (AEJMC) the USA, Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN).
