Episode 92 of Love At First Scent

In this episode, I covered two new releases in the Bulgari Le Gemme range: Erea and Kobraa.

Here's the blotter update...

Both scents essentially continue playing the same tune throughout their development. Erea is probably more successful, in terms of balancing its disparate elements all the way through to its drydown: the sweetness runs alongside the incense, lending it an unexpectedly youthful quality. Kobraa seems to work better on paper/fabric than on skin, mainly because the former manages to bring out that interesting contrast between the geranium leaf and the ambery woods, whereas the base materials appear to dominate on skin. Like I said in the video, the heart of these compositions is nothing we haven't seen before, but as examples of their (somewhat brash?) genre, they are solid and commendable.
