Day 3 of our 7 day skin care challenge is all about #nutrition and what effects it has on how your skin behaves day in and day out.
It's no secret that eating a healthy diet has massive benefits to the body and our overall health. It's also no secret, in our minds at least, that healthy foods typically cause benefits to the skin. Over the years dietitians and dermatologists have advocated for a high daily intake of #antioxidants and #fattyacids as a way to aid the skin in collagen production and acne prevention. This is often reflected in the skin care products you can find in Sephora, Ulta, and in many of the magazines or beauty publications we read online. Many of these products, ours being one of them, are filled to the brim with antioxidants that are incredibly helpful for the skin and keep you looking refreshed and young as you get older.
One of the primary things that diet can affect with skincare is #acne. Acne is a part of growing up and really all ages of life that is incredibly frustrating and hard to manage. But, studies have shown that by decreasing dairy and sugar intake the body will typically start to fight off acne naturally. While the reasons behind this are somewhat up in the air, the results can be rather dramatic. We will almost always recommend that our clients who come to us with #cysticacne lay off dairy and sugar for at least a month so we are able to see if those are some triggers for acne flare ups.
