In 2017, Sarah Halimi, an Orthodox Jewish woman, was murdered in her Paris apartment. She was beaten to death by her neighbor, a young Muslim man originally from Mali. But the Paris Appeals Court has ruled not to pursue charges against him, arguing that his consumption of marijuana gave him a “delirious episode” when he murdered Halimi.
Thousands of people came out on the streets of France over the weekend to protest this devastating ruling. Enough is enough.
