Garmin Venu 3 vs. Vivoactive 5: Key Differences
The Garmin Venu 3 and Vivoactive 5 may look alike, but they have big differences. The Venu 3 has a better heart rate sensor (ELEVATE 5) with possible ECG support, while the Vivoactive 5 uses the older ELEVATE 4. Only the Venu 3 tracks elevation with a barometric altimeter and has a gyroscope for better movement detection. It also includes a microphone and speaker for calls and voice assistants, plus features like Jet Lag Advisor and animated workouts. The Venu 3 offers double the storage (8 GB vs. 4 GB) and lasts up to 14 days in smartwatch mode compared to 11 days for the Vivoactive 5. With a stainless steel bezel and two sizes (41 mm and 45 mm), the Venu 3 looks more premium, while the Vivoactive 5 comes in a single 42.2 mm size with an aluminum bezel. The Venu 3 is great for advanced tracking and smart features, while the Vivoactive 5 is ideal for basic use.
