Here is where my day ended up going downhill fast. A little after 11, a group of track workers showed up to take a look at the rails in the station. As soon as they saw my camera, one of them came up to me to give me the whole "filming trains is illegal and an act of terrorism" spiel, and he wouldn't let me go until he called someone who told him about my 1st Amendment rights. That cost me a shot of a good meet between the last two F40PH-2CATs in service and an eastbound, as well as a westbound deadhead, but things got worse. An hour later, some guy who had been hiding out in the station building for at least an hour and a half and was apparently spying on me decided to come out and start shrieking at me for filming trains. He was clearly an overly-paranoid, conspiracy theorist mental case, accusing me of planting bombs and working for Obama and his "terrorist cult", and he wouldn't listen to reason no matter what I tried to tell him. His presence freaked my out so much that not only did I leave the station for the rest of the day, I also went over to the police department to report him. Unfortunately, the guy had left before the police got there, and they ended up misunderstanding the situation and confronting another railfan instead. Even though the guy was gone for the time being, I just didn't feel comfortable staying in Ramsey for the remainder of the day, so I walked a couple miles east to the Allendale station to wait out the rest of the day. Of course, I missed out on quite a few trains during this whole process, one of which had ex-CNJ GP40PH-2 4100 on it. Oh well. At least I got to see 4119 and 4120 again.
Train 45 pulls in and makes its stop with GP40FH-2 4900 in charge. Cab Car 6712 is at the end.
Cab Car 6073 leads Train 58 as it races past the station. Trailing is F40PH-3C 4911.
F40PH-2CATs 4120 and 4119 pass through the station as they head towards Suffern. This clip was unfortunately cut short by a track worker coming up from behind me and forcing me to turn it off.
GP40PH-2B 4203 pulls Train 1151 across Gertzen Plaza after departing from the station. Trailing is Cab Car 6708.
Norfolk Southern H-55 crosses Gertzen Plaza as it heads back west to the Hillburn Yard in Suffern. GP38-2s 5610 and 5613 are on the point, pulling 21 cars. Train 1116 passes by just as the last car of H-55 clears the crossing. Leading the way is Cab Car 6068, and trailing is PL42AC 4008.
F40PH-2CATs 4119 and 4120 work hard to haul two sets across Main Street and through the station towards Hoboken. The Multilevel set has Cab Car 7043 and ALP-45DP 4527, and the Comet V set has Cab Car 6053 and PL42AC 4027.
Train 1168 pulls in, led by Cab Car 6708. GP40PH-2B 4203 is at the end.
