TME is happy to welcome Atkin Guitars to our fold! What makes us sit up and take note, with so many great instruments already in our showroom? Simply put ~ sound. Atkin's unique scalloped bracing configuration and super-thin aged lacquer finish result in a guitar that's surprisingly open and big-sounding (they've got a lot more oomph in the low end than you'd expect).

This ASJ recalls the well-known small jumbos of the 1950's; and it features beautiful flamed Maple back & sides in place of the Standard Mahogany. It's far from a "bright" sounding guitar, despite what you've heard about Maple; but it's got all the crispness needed to sit presently in a mix. The low end is downright huge for a guitar this size. And it makes a beautiful, well-defined backup when used to accompany vocals.
