Runaway electron beams generated by argon puff - ionized Ar glows (blue), deuterium (pink) gradually penetrates from the right, which neutralizes Ar but the bundle is cut off a bit against the wall and then quite pronounced filaments appear. In general, secondary impregnation of deuterium is very interesting because it can cause safe beam breakdown, as recently shown by the JET tokamak.
