Bank robbery suspect Kelvin Simmons, who faces charges related to bank robberies in five North Carolina counties in late May, was out of the hospital and in Buncombe County court Wednesday, June 7.
News 13 broke the story on the serial bank robbery suspect on May 31, who was accused of robbing First Citizens Bank on Four Seasons Boulevard in Hendersonville the same day just after 5 p.m.
He led police on a high-speed chase Thursday, June 1, after a license plate scanner alerted Black Mountain police he was in the area, then crashed on I-240 in Asheville before being detained by citizens until police arrived at the scene and took him into custody.
