The deadly venomous Terciopelo (Bothrops asper) is the most feared snake of the Central America. It is a very common snake species in Costa Rica. This pit viper is often called Fer-de-lance, but this name is widely used for more species of lancehead vipers. Terciopelo bites many people each year, mostly in plantations and fields. People might step on snakes and snakebites happen. In this video we show you a big, 1.5 meters long Terciopelo with a beautiful coloration.
