Since 2014, the 30 volunteers from Rethymno, Crete, have tirelessly organised numerous outstanding and innovative activities and events to encourage the townspeople to take a stand against bullying and, whenever possible, to help people in a practical way.
In 2016, our Anti-Bullying Volunteers Team won The Diana Award, the only award in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, under the patronage of the British Prime Minister, HRH Prince William and HRH Prince Harry.
On August 31, 2016, they had the honour of receiving The Diana Award for Anti-Bullying Champion from His Excellency the British Ambassador, Mr John Kittmer, at his residence in Athens, Greece. The day marked the 19th anniversary of the passing of our beloved Princess of Wales, Diana, whose legacy is continued and honoured by this award. The award ceremony and reception which followed, were attended by leading personalities in the fields of education, culture and activism.
