I visited the beautiful island of Mallorca (Majorca) in Spain’s Balearic Islands and was captivated by its beauty—mountains, green spaces, and the brilliantly blue waters of the Mediterranean. Here’s drone footage of Calas de Mallorca (southeast coast of the island) and Cala Domingos beach. We stayed in the Club Cala Domingos vacation apartments, a 2-3 minute walk to the beach.
We visited at the end of September when the weather was still beautiful, but the summer crowds had disappeared. I had some concerns about the anti-tourism protests beforehand, but we didn’t encounter any issues. The locals were incredibly warm and welcoming. Overtourism, however, during peak summer months has become a significant issue in Mallorca (and the rest of Spain and parts of Europe), disrupting residents' daily lives. Locals have voiced concerns and organized protests advocating for sustainable tourism practices to preserve the island’s natural beauty, ensure they can access and enjoy their own resources without the strain of excessive visitors, and maintain an affordable cost of living, which has been increasingly impacted by the tourism-driven economy.
Be mindful of this when timing your trip, and always be respectful when visiting. Here's my travel guide: [ Ссылка ].
