INGREDIENTS LISTED BELOW ⬇⬇⬇ Here's another one of my favourite summer drinks - this time it's karkade, which is Egyptian hibiscus iced tea. It has a tangy flavour much like cranberry, but it's made from the sepals of the hibiscus flower. I drank this a lot in both Alexandria and Cairo, and now that the days have heated up in Toronto, I've been enjoying here. You can get two delicious steeps out of the flowers, and this video will show you how. Hope you do too!
INGREDIENTS
First Steep
1 cup of karkade (hibiscus flowers, sorelle)
1/2 cup of sugar
1.5 L of water
Mint (Optional)
Second Steep
1 cup of karkade (hibiscus flowers, sorelle)
1/2 cup of sugar
1.5 L of water
1 cinnamon stick
5-6 cloves
1 star anise
Juice of half a lemon
