The State of Maharashtra was unveiled by Prime Minister of India (late) Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru at Raj Bhavan Maharashtra on 1st May 1960. The first Governor of Maharashtra Sri Prakasa and first Chief Minister of Maharashtra Yashwantrao Chavan were in attendance. Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar was also present on the occasion. The short film revisits the official ceremony of the formation of the State of Maharashtra held at Raj Bhavan Mumbai from the very site where the ceremony had taken place and discusses the interesting events preceding and following the State formation. महाराष्ट्र राज्य निर्मितीचा शासकीय सोहळा दिनांक १ मे १९६० रोजी पंतप्रधान (दिवंगत) पंडीत जवाहरलाल नेहरु यांच्या प्रमुख उपस्थितीत राजभवन मुंबई येथे संपन्न झाला होता. या शासकीय सोहळ्याला राज्याचे पहिले राज्यपाल श्री प्रकाश व पहिले मुख्यमंत्री यशवंतराव चव्हाण उपस्थित होते. भारतरत्न लता मंगेशकर यांनी यावेळी संत ज्ञानेश्वर माऊलींचे पसायदान गायले होते. या माहितीपटातून राजभवन मुंबई येथे झालेल्या सदर राज्यनिर्मिती सोहळ्याची तसेच त्या अगोदर व नंतर झालेल्या घटनांची सोहळा ज्या जागेवर झाला होता त्याच जागेवरून चर्चा करण्यात आली आहे. विस्मृतीत गेलेली माहिती संदर्भासह समोर यावी या हेतूने माहितीपट तयार केला आहे. जनसंपर्क शाखा, राजभवन, महाराष्ट्र
