In 1990, 2 Su-27s flew to Oklahoma to participate in an air show. The women from the Spirit of Oklahoma TV 9 company, having shown great perseverance, persuaded Viktor Pugachjov to take one of them with him on the flight. For greater effect, they wore T-shirts with the name of the TV company in Russian: "Дух Оклахома" (without taking into account the declension rule in the accusative case). After the flight, Viktor Pugachjov noted that this is the first woman ever to take to the air on a Sukhoi fighter. In the USSR, women flew Mikoyan fighters.
