Here is my very thorough review of the Stein Cambo Knee Ascent System, which is a knee ascender for climbing up ropes using a "rope walker" setup, which also requires a chest harness/neck tether, foot ascender and multicender/chest ascender device. I bought this piece of kit a few months ago, but a recent surgery kept me from using it. More to come for this description as soon as I'm able to write it all out. Plenty to discover in the video for now!
Sorry if this turned out to be really long!
I couldn't get a straight shot up. I thought when I set the ine that it would extend outward more, but it didn't. The limb above me was COVERED in thick sap, so I was avoiding it.
I realize now that I had my bungee on wrong during the climb, with my left arm in the way, creating unnecessary tension.
Laughing at my inability to rope walk fluidly will result in five years of a bad karma positive feedback loop. Just kidding; you can laugh. That was my first time doing it in a long time, and even back then I never did it long enough to get good at it. Looking back at the video, it's obvious to me that I made a lot of mistakes with my technique and I really need to figure out how to let the knee ascender move a long the rope more freely. My goal is to become good at this.
