ALIEN ROGUE INCURSION is the first official VR Alien game and an attempt to give players an action packed, "Aliens" style adventure that leans into gunplay and high octane moments rather than the stealth focused experience of Alien Isolation... however, Alien Isolation comfortably retains its crown as the best VR Alien game despite only being a mod due to Alien Rogue Incursions simplicity, lack of variety and sadly, plethora of bugs, glitches and strange VR design decisions. Alien Rogue Incursion certainly isn't a bad game, if you can accept it for what it is you'll have fun for 6hrs blasting Xenomorphs away and living inside an authentically crafted VR Alien world. It delivers some brilliant fan service moments and ultimately lets players come face to face with one of the most iconic movie monsters ever conceived, that alone was enough to put a smile on my face, but after the first hour or so things become predictable and by the numbers with the Alien foes losing most of their fear factor and environments becoming rather repetitive. It's also worth noting that this is Alien Rogue Incursion PART ONE, the second half of this story is in active development right now and this fact wasn't made public before release, it'll be interesting to find out whether part two is just the second half the game held back to allow for additional development time or a full blown sequel.

Alien Rogue Incursion gets a lot of things right but the sum of all it's parts will probably leave a lot of VR purists disappointed and wishing they had instead been given an official Alien Isolation VR port... This Alien Rogue Incursion gameplay / Alien Rogue Incursion review was captured on a 4090 VR ready PC using a pre-release build of the game. Alien Rogue Incursion is out for PCVR & PSVR2 tomorrow with Quest 3 following in 2025.
