A new tribute "From Tsitsanis to Theodorakis" with rembetika (Greek blues and Laika). Babis Tsertos made his debut performance in the U.S during AKTINA's Greek Music Journey 2016. The sold out concert produced by Elena Maroulleti was dedicated to The Great Rembetika (Greek blues) of Greece and was presented on November 4, 2016 at New York's landmark theater, The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College. In this video Tsertos performs the classic rembetiko Ela Na Pame Tsarka (Let's take a stroll) by Apostolos Chatzichristos. The band was comprised by the renowned folk musicians Kyriakos Gkouventas, violin, baglama, Ifighenia Ioannou, vocals, kanonaki, Dimitris Reppas, bouzouki, guitar and Kostas Tsekouras, outi, guitar, vocals. This was a benefit concert in support of public service media, AKTINA FM on WNYE 91.5FM and AKTINA TV on WNYE Channel 25 and it was co-presented by the non-profits, AKTINA Productions, Inc., and CYPRECO Of America, Inc.
