I had another insanely challenging hospital night shift - this time inserting difficult cannulas! The patients need cannulas for IV fluids and antibiotics, and the nurses bleeped me because it was too hard... eek!

The night shift can be super scary because you have to go around the hospital on your own and carry a bleep (pager) that constantly goes off. I'm on surgical rotation at the moment. My job was mainly to review unwell patients on the ward, prescribe medications, take bloods, insert cannulas, and discuss patient plans with other hospital colleagues.
