Leopards often haul their kills up into a tree, out of reach of scavengers such as hyenas, which can't match a leopard's climbing agility.
A high concentration of leopard means an equally high concentration of scavengers – in specifically, hyenas. The more leopards, the more kills and the increased opportunity for easy access to food for hyenas. The hyena is a vital member of the clean-up crew of a reserve and they play an integral part in the ecology of an area. Hyenas regularly follow leopards around when the leopards themselves are looking for a meal and when the leopards catches prey Hyenas will swoop in to try and take it from them.
This leopard did not stash his kill high enough in the tree. This ultimately lead to the Hyena stealing his prey. Hopefully the leopard learned a valuable lesson and will stash his prey at a more suitable spot to keep it away from the preying eyes of Hyenas.
