Anxiety has been a background noise for Jennifer her whole life, but never realized that’s what she was experiencing until her first panic attack in May of 2018.
“I look back in hindsight, oh wow that was me being anxious and now I can see at 34 years old that was just a slow build up, and I never had any type of major physical ailment and at the age of 32 I was told I have to have this major abdominal surgery, and it was kind of like the straw that broke the camel's back,” said Jennifer.
Jennifer always called herself a hypochondriac, now knowing she struggles with health anxiety.
The day of her first panic attack started out like any other day and then it hit her out of nowhere.
“My throat was tightening up, my mouth was really dry, sweating, feeling really dizzy, it was crazy,” said Jennifer.
The same night Jennifer found DARE after an online search, and it resonated with her because Barry was speaking from personal experience.
“When you read through DARE and really start to understand what is going on in your brain, I know that I don’t want to get on the path of medicine because it's just a bandaid, I want to get into the crux of it and how to really physically work on my responses to it,” said Jennifer.
It’s been two years and Jennifer says DARE has helped her push through her anxiety and can’t remember the last time she had a panic attack.
“Two years have passed and I'm still living my life and enjoy all the movements and that to me it’s like DARE’s working,” said Jennifer.
