Juneteenth celebrate the day that the last slaves were told that they were free in America. Even though Juneteenth was two years after the emancipation proclamation which freed the slaves. Back then Word move slowly back then and also some white people were reluctant to give up their slaves. To the point that the government gave them reparations for losing their slaves. Black people were free but far from free. Even after they were freed they were treated so harshly. Looking at my history. I know that my great grandmother was born a slave. I knew her. I a 28 year old female has knows someone who was a slave. Sometimes thinking about that is unreal. 

I am so grateful for those who pain before us. The education that they give us in our blood. The seasoning for our food and the rhythm in our hips. The wisdom in our heart and the peace of our mind. I am so grateful. To be able to walk and live the life that I do. It is all because of those who came before me and I am here to say thank you.
