At the end of a concert in December of 1958, Charles and his orchestra had played their set list, but still had time remaining to fill. So, Charles improvised a song featuring a 12-bar blues and lively call & response sections. The audience’s reaction was so enthusiastic that Charles decided he would later record the song.
