Phoenix Handpan Care Oil Application Tutorial

This tutorial covers how to apply Phoenix Oil to your Handpan or other metal instrument such as Kaa Tone or Tongue drum. The entire process takes about 2 to 3 minutes.
What you will need:
- Phoenix Oil
- Rag
- Clean Microfibre cloth
Step 1:
Prep the instrument by ensuring it's wiped down well with a microfibre cloth or cleaned using isopropyl alcoohol/warm saopy water (refer to the Celestial Sound cleaning tutorial coming soon). If possible remove any rubber/rope/fabric trim covers.
Step 2:
Apply a few drops of Phoenix Oil on one shell at a time and massage the oil into the steel with your rag in a circular motion until the entire shell is covered. Repeat this for both sides and the rim. Ensure you DO NOT oil the inside of the instrument EXCEPT for approximately fingers reach inside the port (hole on the bottom shell) to ensure that it is protected from our fingers as we grip the instrument on a day to day basis.
Step 3:
Using your clean microfibre cloth, buff and wipe off as much of the excess oil as you can using circular motions again. The idea here is to leave the instrument with as much of a matte finish as you can.
Step 4:
Replace any trims removed. Repeat every couple of months or as required.
