The third series of the wines made for the collection Spanish Artists Lealtanza and in honour to Antonio Gaudi features three images of details of the famous Park Guell in Barcelona.
Robert Parker Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Lealtanza Reserva Spanish Artist Collection (Gaudi in this vintage) is 100% Tempranillo sourced from 75+-year-old vines and aged for 18 months in new French oak. Purple/black in color, it proffers a complex perfume of lavender, incense, Asian spices, leather, black cherry, and blackberry. Full-bodied, dense, and mouth-filling, it is loaded with ripe fruit, notes of terroir and spice, and enough tannin to blossom for another 3-4 years. This lengthy effort will offer a drinking window extending from 2013 to 2025."
This wine is the product of the winery Bodegas Altanza, S.A.
BODEGAS ALTANZA, HISTORY AND TRADITION
It was in 1998 that a group of businessmen related to the world of wine decided to create a new winery. This new bodega emerges with the idea of producing quality wines at a reasonable price.
At first the bodega is settled to produce reserva wines and gran reserva wines, since reserva is the wine that traditional winemakers used to keep for their best visits.
Located in Fuenmayor (Rioja Alta), Bodegas Altanza was built in a 35.000 m2 area leaving 10.000 m2 for a magnificent French garden.
Its goal has always been and is to offer quality wine at a reasonable price, combining the best of the tradition inherent to a world renowned wine region with all the possibilities technology offers now: the goal is to make the most of a characteristic grape like the Tempranillo.
Tradition, because noble and traditional materials as wood, stones and solid bricks have been used when designing and building Bodegas Altanza.
We maintain a vertical pressing method when making the wine; as well as the choice of the autochthonous variety as the only one when making our wines. Remarkable is the fact of getting the wooden vats back in order to produce high quality wines.
Modernity, because inside Bodegas Altanza we will find the latest technologies in the wine making process. The bottlle and barrel room both count with a climate and humidity control system.
The name of its main brand, Lealtanza, comes from the ancient Castilian, which means "Loyalty".
