In 2022, the world pledged to protect 30% of the Earth's natural environments by 2030. South Africa has committed to this vision, known as 30x30.
Launched at the National Biodiversity Economy & Investment Indaba in South Africa, this short film tells the story of Babanango Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal - an example of a modern and collaborative approach to conservation and what is possible in our beautiful and diverse country.
This film reflects the true meaning of collaboration in every way and inspired many, including the President, @Cyril Ramaphosa who called it a "wonderful story” in his address at the Indaba.
In his speech, he highlighted the uniqueness of South Africa and its rich biodiversity. "The Global Biodiversity Framework that was adopted in December 2022 aims to ensure that biodiversity is valued, conserved, restored and wisely used, sustaining a healthy planet and delivering benefits essential for all people."
