Phil Mickelson's SPINNING flop shot
In this video Phil Mickelson explains and demonstrates how to hit a low spinning flop shot with the right lie. The low spinning flop shot can only be done if the golf ball has a clean tight lie. No grass can be between the golf ball and the club head. Unlike the regular flop shot where the club enters the ground behind the ball making indirect contact with the golf ball. The club head makes steep direct contact with the ball for the spinning flop shot. Since the club head is making direct contact with the ball, less energy is needed to make the spinning flop shot. The club face is open and laid flat. The golfers weight is forward. The stance is open until the face is pointing toward the target. The club is then re-gripped and Phil Mickelson makes a hinge and hold swing that comes in steep on top of the golfball. Phil Mickelson swings down the target line (not across it) with steep hinge and hold fundamentals.
