With an acknowledgement to the economic crisis of 1931 came "I'm an unemployed sweetheart". It seems ironic that the vocal is in the hands of Bob and Alf Pearson. They hailed from the north east, where the unemployment was the worst in England.
The song was partly composed by James Monaco. He was responsible for "You made me love you", Masculine women, feminine men" and the song I featured in my last upload "You went away too far", amongst many others.
Not a big hit in Britain with only dance band versions.
Recorded 16th December 1931.
