I know that pacman builds a cache "in-definitively" and requires maintenance. I ran the paccache -r command and got the reply command not found.

Another learning experience presented itself and I answered it with pacman-contrib.

So don't panic, just install pacman-contrib and/or if you use pamac go to the preferences there and hit the clean cache button..
