Story :-
Lakshmi serial story revolves around the life of Lakshmi, the daughter of a businessman in Srilanka.
After losing all his business to his partner, they move back to India. The responsibility of taking care of the family consisting of her father, stepmother, three half-sisters and two half-bothers, falls upon her head. Being experienced with the businesses back in Sri Lanka, Lakshmi could get a job easily. Lakshmi’s best friend is married to a guy named GJ and has two kids with him. They were all oblivious to the fact that GJ is a fraud. Lakshmi ended up working for him. Her best friend meets with an accident and goes into a coma. GJ then plans to marry a rich woman named Maya but decides that Lakshmi would make a better wife. When GJ goes to her with a proposal, she rejects him, saying that she couldn’t do that to her best friend. Her family and her best friend’s family convinces her, saying that her best friend would’ve wanted her and GJ to be happy. Lakshmi reluctantly agrees.
A few months into the marriage, Lakshmi gets to know about GJ’s illegal activities but gets pregnant before she could do anything. When her best friend wakes up from the coma, she is furious with Lakshmi. Lakshmi gives birth to a girl child and their friendship comes to an end. Later, everyone gets to know that GJ does an illegal business in his ex-wife’s name and she gets arrested for it. GJ leaves Lakshmi and marries Maya. In jail, Lakshmi’s best friend gets sick and dies. Lakshmi is hurt that her best friend died without forgiving her. Then she receives a letter that her best friend wrote from her death bed. After reading it, Lakshmi gets courage and decides to take the children away from GJ.
