Sewing a shirt sleeve placket is another one of those daunting firsts for many sewists but there is nothing to worry about.

Just follow these steps and take your time.

The short side of the placket will be at the back of the sleeve and the tall side to the front.

It’s a good idea to mark the wrong side of your sleeve. The right side of the placket is facing the wrong side of the sleeve to start until it is turned through.
