In this episode I'm travelling through some of the most beautiful and preferred by motorcycle adventurers routes in Bulgaria. Rhodopi mountain has a lot to offer in that matter.
First I take the road to Smolyan's Regional Museum. After that I pass through Shiroka luka, the village with one of the most beautiful traditional architecture in Bulgaria. Then I go to Devil's throat cave, the cave of Yagodina and finally to the fortress Peristera in Peshtera.
In Smolyan you can see several exhibitions like Historical one, Archeological and if you ask me the most impressive - the Ethnographic one. With the traditional bulgarian-rhodopean clothes (called 'nosia') and the Masked costumes that people wear on the special holiday days. Yes these are the so called 'Kuker'.
Shiroka luka is really amazing place tucked in the Rhodopi mountain. People there represent the Rhodopean food in the most impressive way. Also there is one of the two schools for bulgarian folklore music and dances in the country.
Then through the amazing Trigrad gorge I go to Devil's throat, probably the most mysterious cave in Bulgaria. Many claim that it has no exit and that's why it's called like that because what comes in never comes out. It has an amazing waterfall inside and a very high staircase to climb on to the exit. Wish you courage with that.
The route to Yagodina goes throught another gorge - Buynovo gorge. This is one long and beautiful cave. Fortunatly only the third floor is open for visitor but it's around a kilometer long so it's not easy.
Then to Peristera through another amazing route between Devin and Krichim. One of the most popular route for motorcycle adventurers visiting Rhodopi mountain. The fortress is in pretty good condition. You can see most of the walls and the tower which is in perfect condition. You can enter inside and climb to the top.
