Showing how with "off the shelf" TEG/peltier modules (only 5% harvest efficiency) it is possible to generate enough energy to power small devices using ONLY the body heat.
Although, generating 5V requires additional modules or cooling with ice, it is possible to generate it without them. However it requires more complicated circuitry and it would generate much less current (5mA) and even shorter charging spikes when connected to a phone. Therefore, I am using more simpler setup.
The fast charge/discharge cycle of the phone that is shown in the video is due to the TEG system unable to sustain the 1A@5V current that the device demands.
The active component only generates around 20mA@5V when cooled with ice, and would only generate 5mA@5V without ice (if the hardware would support the conversion from such low voltages, but it does not, because the active component NEEDs 200mV from the TEG modules, at least).
