Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo Gonzalez says he was forced to sign a letter admitting defeat in July's presidential election. Gonzalez claims he signed the document under duress, saying there were "hours of coercion, blackmail, and pressure."
He fled to Spain after a chaotic presidential election in which incumbent President Nicolas Maduro was declared the winner, but many found the results dubious as authorities did not provide detailed vote counts.
The US says evidence clearly shows Gonzalez received more votes and has recognized him as the winner.
