LaSalle College Vancouver (LCV) opened its doors in 1998 as an English as second language school (ESL). In 2002 the school began to focus and expand on design-based programs such in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Artistic Make-up, Interior Design, Jewellery Design, Graphic Design, and 2D/3D Animation as well ason-line training programs in Interior Design, Fashion Marketing, Video Game 3D Modelling, and Administrative Assistant.
On September 8, 2014, LaSalle College Vancouver (LCV) officially welcomed students to its new Yaletown campus, located at 101 Smithe Street.
Housed in a five-storey, 1900’s heritage building, the beautiful space was built to reflect the creative nature of the diplomas offered; the high educational standard; quality instruction; and the LCI Education network’s global Canadian education project.
Every aspect of the new campus- including class sizes, work and study spaces, specialized equipment, wall colors and furniture- was designed to allow the creative juices of students to flourish. The new campus, increases capacity from 100 to 400 students, and heralds a new era for the educator.
From once an industrial warehouse district to today being one of hottest neighbourhoods, Yaletown is home to many of the city’s trendiest restaurants, hip shopping boutiques, quaint sidewalk cafes and celebrity rendezvous’.
Situated in the southeastern portion of Downtown, this waterfront community is home for many young professionals between 20 and 40, wealthy penthouse dwellers, families, and a growing number of empty-nesters. Locals in Yaletown are known to be very trendy, fashion forward, health conscious and culinary aficionados.
On February 1, 2017, LCI Education Network, of which LaSalle College Vancouver(LCV) is a member, acquired The Art Institute of Vancouver an award winning higher education provider offering an array of exciting applied arts programs in diverse fields such as VFX for Film and Television, Video Game Programming, Digital Film & Video, Game Art & Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Fashion, Culinary Arts and just to name a few. Located in an 80,000 square feet building in beautiful Vancouver, AIV delivers programs with credentials ranging from Bachelor Degrees, Diploma’s and Certificates and has been consistently named one of the top 10 undergraduate schools for video game design by the Princeton Review.
LaSalle College Vanocuver, Renfrew and Yaletown campuse, prides itself on small class size, a friendly environment, hands-on delivery, and excellent industry-experienced instructors. The goal of LCV is to provide excellence in knowledge building and skill development and to assist its students in achieving their career goals in a professional, stimulating and friendly environment.
LaSalle College Vancouver is is designated by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education of British Columbia, registered with the Ministry of Advanced Education, Student Services Branch and government funding is available to full-time students who qualify.
Among the many advantages, students are able to enjoy opportunities to study abroad from one week to one semester at a selection of the network’s campuses, including Montreal, Bogota, Istanbul, Jakarta and Barcelona.
LCV is also a member of the LCI Education network composed of 22 campuses in 12 countries.
