This is a video that is a literal fire dance as I touch the World 👑 - 👑 flagpole without bringing any powerups. Some of you wanted to see me do this. And some of you may just want to see me challenge myself.
Don't want to watch? Maybe reading is faster.
This method involves technical practice and performance to clear, my other video ([ Ссылка ]) is better off to start.
Since this is the Power-(up-)less run, there's no point in using the save-file to keep your powerup, since this goes over the default run... Anyways. Enough chitty chatty. Here's a reminder: Game Over = Toadhouse Refresh. That's also why I'm trying to get a Game Over, so those Toad Houses aren't a bunch of dead tree stumps.
Section 1: Get yourself on the speed, and ignore the octorocks - octoombas, they're not worth your time killing. The fire bros are pretty ignorable as well. Okay... don't completely ignore them, if they shoot and land a hit - you're damaged. First charging chuck can be avoided by jumping again at the pink bars. For the pink double bars, ground pound on the 2nd closest bar to lure the three closest chucks and run on the lower set of bars. The fourth chuck is avoidable as the first chuck was.
Section 2: Tanooki makes the section a breather compared to this, but I found it necessary to view the blast blocks as an object that disappears for 1.5 seconds instead of appears for 1.5 seconds, meaning if I get 1.5 seconds of airtime, I'm golden! So for the first set of blocks, I charge at full speed, then jump and land on the middle blocks for each trio when they appear. For the second set, treat the staircase like a set of stairs similar to Blast Block Skyway, and then jump to the furthest pink blockonce landing on the further blue block. Then you'll jump to the blue blocks near the breatherpoint and prepare for the stretch. When you reach the double stairs, instead of trying to cut it in one blow, try to wall-jump on the blocks when they appear and use that to gain ground (sorry, this is hard to explain)
Section 3: Making the jumps while avoiding the fuzzies is the greater challenge here. Treat the spike bars like jump rope and keep your rhythm. When the window you to fit in that fuzzy-gap appears, jump and take a breather. Rinse and repeat.
Section 4: If you don't like the ant troopers, ground pound on them and they will die. If you don't mind them, jump on them, wall jump, and repeat. Don't kill the Piranha Creepers. Just jump on them, hold the A button and get up there. Or you could cat climb after creeper number 1. The swimming section is the swimming section. Just don't touch anything sharp. This was literally copied from the other video.
Section 5: Without the tanooki leaf, I would understand you if your heart starts beating faster. It's easier to die and once you do, you have to START ALL OVER AGAIN! This is part of why I never beat the Wii U version (aside the fact my Wii U disc broke). Fortunately, you don't have to time your jumps to be picture-perfect, as the mid-air dives can save you if you're a few frames off. But you are going to have to jump as late as possible so you can make the huge gaps. And just as mentioned in the other video, the handling is much easier than it seems when you run on multiple dash panels, and turning left or right requires no jumping.
After this, you're basically done! If you're doing pipeless for the first time... well. Don't screw it up, or you know what's coming for you!
