Shuhei travelled from Japan to the UK and is aiming to study BA (Hons) Education Studies at Durham University.

He’s currently studying International Foundation Year in Humanities, Law and Social Science.

Talking of his inspiration to be a teacher, Shuhei tells us about a teacher who inspired him when he was at school in Japan. He also shares his passion for Harry Potter and how Hermione Granger is his role model.

Shuhei says he loves the scenery in Durham. He compares the skyscrapers of Tokyo to the medieval architecture in Durham.

He also shares stories of his biggest surprise when he arrived in the UK and about the friendly community he’s found here.
