Title: “Star of Wonder”
Rev. Nathan Kilbourne
On the 11th day of Christmas (that's right, Christmas isn't over!) and the first Sunday of the year, we will gather to celebrate Epiphany! Epiphany is the day we celebrate the Magi coming to visit Jesus, the Christ child. As you know, the word Epiphany means revelation. The day celebrates a profound story of a revealed star used by God to draw non-Jews to the Jewish Messiah. The story, in fact, sets the tone for the Gospel as to who is included in the good news of Jesus Christ. The Gospel isn't for a select group of people, rather Jesus' appearance is for the world! This epiphany starts with this star who's light draws the attention of the Magi. The star's light reveals God's gracious intentions for the world. What does the star's light reveal for us? What epiphanies is God wanting us to see? Join us Sunday to find out!
