The Eden Project Biomes are interesting on the one hand for their huge spanning geodesic domes (see Buckminster Fuller) and on the other hand for the flora they inhabit - therfore it is a perfect visit wether you are architerually interested or not so much. The former "moon landscape" of an old caly pit became the site of The Eden Project and is today one of the most famous attractions outside London.
The appearance of the domes is as if there were spheres droped on the ground and they melt together and into the ground.
Making such span widths working it is crucial to go leightweight - the biomes are made out of hexagonal steel frames, with an extra beneath laying and rotated hexagonal steel structure, filled with pneumatic airpads made out of durable and transparent ETFE foil . According to Grimshaw Architects the biomes cover 2.2 ha of land.

Architektur.eck is an on going video project to establisch a catalogue for architectural projects, compositions and crossovers. The long term goal is to provide a platform which exceeds drawings, renderings and photographs for not only architects but also interested individuals.
The videography does not intend to take a counterpart but as an informative and relevant supplement to emphasize the spatial experience.
Also it is not supposed to serve pure documentary style but also as an "artistic" approach to transfer the sense the building within its surrounding emits to its audience.
The approach is to update and expand the catalogue on a constant basis that it will grow to a relevant size over time.
Beside the youtube channel exists a facebook page and an instagram account to keep you updated about new videos and also to provide a catalogue of photographs.
