Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on July 27 hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his visit to Rajasthan amid the political slugfest in Parliament over the Manipur issue. He went on to say that PM Modi has no faith in democracy and the Constitution.
“...The House is functioning. We are demanding that the PM come there and make a statement. But he is giving political speeches and campaigning in Rajasthan. When he can go there, can’t he come to the House for half an hour and make a statement? It means that has no interest, no faith in democracy. He doesn’t want to protect democracy and the Constitution. He is disrespecting the Parliament...” said Mallikarjun Kharge.
Notably, there has been a logjam in the Parliament as Opposition is demanding a statement from PM Modi over the Manipur situation. PM Modi is on a two-day visit to Rajasthan to inaugurate many projects and attend events.
