The Mercedes-Benz R-Class is a something of an oddball in the market. Controversial styling and market placement somewhere between SUV and minivan, and clearly intended to be the sort of luxury transport which you would typically find used for VIP airport journeys. But this is juxtaposed with an insanely over the top AMG model on one end of the spectrum, and strangely affordable diesels and even the 306 horsepower V8 R500 model on the other...
