To dissect the Committee on the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC Committee) General Comment (GC) No. 24 on children's rights in the child justice system, let’s see how a technical advisor and a legal officer reads and understands the GC and its development process. GCs are authoritative interpretations of the CRC by the CRC Committee which provides guidance to states on how to appropriately implement the relevant articles of the convention. This video covers the substance of GC 24 on children's rights in the child justice system, including the inter-linkage with CEDAW and the CRPD, how the CRC Committee considers these issues in their state review, and how the civil society can utilize GC 24.
