Modern biblical scholarship has lost its way, suffering from a stratorpheric "knowledge to understanding" ratio. Bad hermenuetics led to teaching that is not only incorrect, but skirting blasphemy. One place this becomes apparent is in the interpretation of Genesis 1:26. Many scholars dimiss the idea that the "us" in 1:26 is referring to the Trinity and instead say it is some sort of Divine Council of other beings.
This approach runs contrary to what the whole of the rest of scripture teaches about the Image of God, and how both God the Father and His one Unique Son operated together in creation, as well as the Holy Spirit's work in sanctification of believers so that we may conform to the Image of God which lives in us.
Here Mark attempts to set the record straight on Genesis 1:26.
